With a focus on safety, this course teaches technicians and support team members the fundamentals of working with natural gas as a vehicle fuel and both CNG and LNG fuel systems.
Natural gas behaves differently than gasoline or diesel fuels, and on CNG vehicles, portions of the fuel system operate at extremely high pressures (3,600 psi). LNG vehicles use cryogenic (-260 degrees Fahrenheit) fuel systems. While both types of fuel systems are very safe, they require unique components and special safety procedures for all levels of routine maintenance, diagnostics and repair.
Available in instructor led or e-learning formats, this Level 1 course is a must for all technicians and support teams performing routine maintenance, inspection, diagnostics and repair of natural gas vehicles. It is also a prerequisite for technicians who will take NGVi’s CNG Fuel System Inspector Training or NGV Heavy-Duty Maintenance and Diagnostics Training.
